   We are very unhappy with the recent pay raise you voted for yourselves. Times are tough; did you all forget who put you into office ???

   Only six board members voted “no” on this fiscally irresponsible action.

   Thanks to the six who had the integrity to realize the Board should actually lead in cost reduction instead of gorging at the public trough.

   I highly doubt my comment will get posted but it is worth a shot. This is nothing but a political move for Morthland. Lets look at the facts. He is having this meeting through Bobby Schilling’s campaign office in East Moline. This website has visit the campaign site for the November election. This website is paid for by the ” committee to Elect Rich Morthland”. It is a political ploy that would make Karl Rove smile.

     Any county board member could be doing what Morthland is doing. In fact, a few others are joining him to hold a special meeting. The special meeting will occur at the County Building.    I was totally appalled at the idea the non-union employees were asked to take unpaid furloughs and three days later the county board members were instituting raises for themselves. This is part of the reason IL is in such financial difficulty – elected officials looking out for themselves and not for their communities. I believe all county board member wages should be frozen until a time when the county can say it is in the black and not in the red. I absolutely will not vote for any incumbent who is for a pay increase at this time. Those of us in the private sector are not seeing pay increases but we are seeing our property and income taxes increasing. The State of IL also wants to put a sales tax on service in IL .
   I am praying the current Democrats are totally voted out in the upcoming election. We cannot afford their spending and living beyond OUR means. Wake up IL residents – GET THE SLUDGE OUT OF THE SWAMP!!!!!

   The RI County board members do NOT deserve a pay raise. They are paid more than enough. Do you know they also receive compensation for every meeting they attend in addition to the salaries they receive? Enough is enough – VOTE THEM OUT!!!
   We need a CHANGE in Rock Island County and the State of Illinois!!!! We don’t need more of the same!

   The pay raise was a very bad decision on the part of the County Board. It’s time to clean house and vote these people out of office. The gravy train should be over for them.
